Pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party HDP co-leaders Yuksekdag and Demirtas detained

According to media reports quoting Turkish officials on 04 November 2016, Yuksekdag and Demirtas were detained, along with at least other nine members of parliament (MPs), as part of a counter-terrorism investigation following a police raid in the HDP party headquarters in Ankara. The HDP is accused by Turkey of links with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militant group. The party strongly denied any link to the left-wing PKK organization, media added. EPA/SEDAT SUNA
